An amazing fully fenced playground, it’s easy to see why it’s considered one of the best children’s playgrounds on the Gold Coast.

One negative we found about the layout of the park and playground is the distance of the public toilets from Sophie Purcell Playgrounds. You have to walk across the car park and down a pathway to reach the toilets, which can be difficult with toddlers in tow.
Toddler Review
We got to Laguna Park quite early on a weekend morning to beat the regular weekend traffic heading to the Southern Gold Coast. When we arrived the playground was fairly quiet so we were able to set up at a shady picnic table. Coming from the Northern Gold Coast I packed a good selection of snacks for the kids so they could eat in the car or when we got to the park. This way we could limit the “I’m hungry” tantrums and reduce any resulting stress for me!
And oh what a playground! So many FUN things to do and play on. It is easy to see why it is popular with Gold Coast families and known as one of the best playgrounds. The surrounding parkland is beautiful too, and if it is your thing, many spots for Insta worthy photos especially near the lake.
It didn’t take long for more and more families to join in the fun on the playground. It is a popular spot and I would recommend getting there early and bringing a picnic blanket and/or camp chairs so you have a place to sit even if there are a lot of people at the playground.
There were also a number of kid’s birthday parties set-up either in the playground space or the surrounding park, it seems Laguna Park is also a popular spot for parties and picnics.
The Sophie Purcell playground at Laguna Park is fully fenced so the kid’s can explore the playground and you know they won’t get too far, especially great for Mum’s that have little runners and explorers.
We also took along our bikes and scooters and after a looong play on the playground (there is after all, so much to do!), we took a ride on the park pathway around the stunning Laguna Lake. We made sure to pay a visit to the public toilets whilst on our ride as they are a distance for little legs from the main playground area. It is a really nice spot for a bike ride or a scenic pram walk.
With so much to do and see at Laguna Park and Playground we recommend planning a family day out and making the most of everything on offer.
Have a fun toddler adventure at Laguna Park Palm Beach.
