Book Box Ormeau UPDATE!

Fletcher and Harper have been attending Book Box Ormeau since they were babies. I even remember taking Harper when she was only 1 week old. Friday mornings have not been the same since Book Box closed its doors – we loved going to Story Time and collecting our weekly fix of books.

I have been keeping an eye out of the Gold Coast Libraries’ socials for any update on Book Box. Earlier this week I decided to reach out and ask the question and I have found out that the long wait of the return of Book Box is almost over! See below.

Book Box Ormeau Update

Here is the response I got back from GC Libraries:

“We are in the final stages of planning for the book box reopening. It took longer than expected due to the small size of the book box but it should be reopening very soon. Keep posted on social media”. 

I know it doesn’t give us a date but it is the final stages. Hoorah! Fun Things for Toddlers will continue to watch the Gold Coast Libraries socials and we will update you when the big news is announced so make sure you are following us on all our socials. What is Book Box Ormeau

Book Box is Gold Coast Libraries‘ early years lending library and play-based learning space, based at the Ormeau Community Centre. It offers fun for your little one, and a great opportunity to support your child’s language development and curiosity for learning.

Reading, playing and talking to your child every day from birth helps your child’s brain develop. It’s a good way to spend time together and it helps to build strong foundations for future language and learning skills.

Book Box opened in 2017 and is proudly funded and supported by the Queensland Government and the State Library of Queensland as a part of their First 5 Forever program.

The nearest open library to Book Box is Upper Coomera.

Mobile library services are starting again this week (from Wednesday 10 February), it visits Ormeau every Wednesday 1pm to 4pm. More info on Gold Coast Libraries Mobile Library.
