Toddler Review
Guess who got bikes for Christmas?
That’s right, Fletcher and Harper did. Whilst Harper is a little reluctant to ride her new bike preferring her scooter, Fletcher is excited and eager to get out to ride his bike whenever and wherever possible. So fair warning we will be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for good kid friendly locations for bike riding moving forward!
I was very excited to discover that nearby Outlook Park in Ormeau Hills had a playground and bike trails for kids. And our very first outing with the new bikes was found!
What a great park!
First the draw card – the bike tracks! There are two separate tracks on two different levels that your toddler can ride, scoot or skate safely around to their hearts content. The tracks feature road line markings, signs and even winner’s podiums. The tracks have plenty of grass and some seating surrounding them for watching parents. Outlook park as the name suggests has a great view of the surrounding Ormeau Hills estate which makes it a lovely place to visit but a word of caution the foot paths between the two bike tracks or trails is steep.
The bike tracks are located on the lower and middle levels of Outlook Park. The middle level also features a shelter and fitness equipment. On the very top level is a nice little toddler playground, BBQ and Picnic Shelter.
From the crowd of small bikers, scooter riders, skateboarders and roller skaters Outlook Park is a popular destination for little locals to try out their wheels. It now is with my two!
We are already planning another later afternoon visit so we can combine an early BBQ dinner with a ride and play when we next visit.
If you have a toddler looking to burn some rubber check out Outlook Park in Ormeau.
