Toddler Review

The Bouncy or Jumping Pillow at Washington Waters Playground is a key attraction for most kids, neither of my kids had tried one before so I had to join Fletcher on the Pillow so he would give it a try.

Aside from the usual favourite, the swings, both children loved getting on the front of the Monorail Peddle Bikes as Mum peddled behind. They both also liked climbing on the Lizard Sculpture that sits between the playground and the bouncy pillow.

Consider bringing your toddler’s ride on trike, scooter or bike so they can give the bike track a try. This bike track is great for small children or kids who are just learning to ride their bikes. The track is close to the road and not fenced so close supervision is a must.

The Broadwater Parklands feature flat footpaths that run along the water so we made sure we brought the kids ride on trikes so we could combine a nice scenic walk with a play in the playground and a packed picnic lunch at one of the many picnic and bbq shelters.

During our walk we strolled to the end of a nearby jetty and fed the fish some leftover bread and also walked to the top of the hill to look at the Maddie and Mike sculpture up close. Fletcher decided to burn some excess energy by riding down and walking back up the hill several times.

The morning went quickly and it was soon time to get back in the car so we could head home for nap time. If your toddler is no longer napping it is easy to spend the entire day at the Broadwater Parklands, check out the list of nearby attractions below to plan a full day outing.

What to pack (suggestions)
